[Back to top]Electronic data capture covers all the functionality that enters all the data you need in your system. There are three main areas of relevance to Compello: scanning, where paper documents are made available as an electronic image, the import of electronic documents, e.g. XML files and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) which reads data from a file (scanned or electronic) and registers the data so that they can be edited and/or exported.
[Back to top]That depends on the laws that govern financial documents in your country. In many cases, you can destroy/shred paper documents earlier if they are archived electronically. In some countries, you can also destroy/shred them immediately. Remember that an electronic archive is easier to back-up than a hard copy archive, and it takes up much less space.
[Back to top]Yes. You can. Although Compello has primarily been developed for financial documents, there is nothing to stop you from scanning in post, contracts and other documents and using all the advantages of Compello's workflow functions and electronic archiving.
Many of the registration fields in Compello can be configured, so that you can easily adapt them to other applications.
